Ben and Joana wrote to me two days before their wedding. They are Austrian, and getting married in Austria is not so easy, so while they were in New York they decided to see if they could book an appointment and make it official here.
We spent three and a half hours walking around the city: the ceremony at the Office of the City Clerk, the steps outside, a slice at the most famous pizzeria in New York, Joe's Pizza, then the Oculus and the Old Friend photobooth on the Lower East Side. Along the way I also filmed a short wedding video for them, four and a half minutes they can keep next to the photographs.
It never felt like an appointment. It felt like friends walking around the city creating something magical, and I loved every minute of the shoot and of editing the photos afterwards.
