This one has a story behind it. Louise's sister, who lives and works in New York, reached out to arrange an engagement shoot for Louise while she was visiting from South Africa.
When I arrived on the day and met the couple, I realized Matt was one of my friends from university. Purely by chance, he was marrying someone whose sister lives here, and out of every photographer in New York, she had booked me.
We spent the early morning in Central Park and had it almost entirely to ourselves. The light coming through the trees let me backlight everything, which gives that intimate, romantic feeling these photos live on. We worked around Bethesda Fountain, through the Terrace arcade, and down the Mall, and I got to photograph an old friend at one of the happiest moments of his life.
