Family
I have been photographing the Bedros family since I moved to New York. It started with Christina's maternity session when she was eight months pregnant, and since then I have photographed the family twice more with their baby boy.
This session happened at home in their Upper West Side apartment. Apartment shoots live and die by the light, and this one made us work for it: we moved furniture, chased the brightest corners, and built each frame around the window light.
That constraint is exactly what makes these images feel like them. The sofa, the bedroom, the afternoon light they actually live in. These are some of my favourite at-home family photographs I have made.
"Dylan is the BEST! I hired him for my maternity shoot and my baby’s newborn shoot and could not be happier. I came in with a bunch of messy TikTok ideas and random inspo pics, and he somehow turned all of it into the most beautiful vision. He was so patient, so creative, and even made my husband (who really doesn’t like photos) feel comfortable and actually enjoy the process. Before the shoot he sent us a vision board and a little checklist of things to bring to make it personal which was such a thoughtful touch. During the shoot he kept us laughing, made everything easy and fun, and the photos turned out better than I ever imagined."
