Fruzsina and her partner spent a Thursday in October with me in Brooklyn Heights and Brooklyn Bridge Park. We moved between the brownstone streets and stoops of the neighbourhood and the lawns and railings along the water, with Lower Manhattan across the river and the Brooklyn Bridge close by.
The sky was a soft October grey, which is kinder to people than you would think: no squinting, no hard shadows, and the skyline turns into a pale backdrop instead of fighting for attention.
They dressed in navy and cream, which sat quietly against the red brick and the green of the park. My favourite frames are the small moments in between, like crossing the street hand in hand or a turn at the coin-operated viewer on the waterfront.
